About This Show

The Diamondpoint Theater Company (DPTC) presents an evening of “Chamber Theater” featuring three short pieces under the title SAVAGE/LOVE. This evening of theater includes Sam Shepard’s Savage/Love, a series of performance poems written with Joseph Chaikin; Transfigured Mirror, which was taken from two chapters of an unpublished novel by Richard Royal; and The Rite of Spring – a wordless, movement-based re-imagining of David Mamet’s play Edmond: a man
set morally adrift leaves an unfulfilling marriage to find sex, adventure, companionship, and, ultimately, the meaning of his existence. Performed entirely without words and set to Igor Stravinsky’s “Le Sacre Du Printemps,” the piece has been described as a “live music video.” Peter Royal directs.
