In 1938, baseball was fast becoming America's pastime but major leagues would not host an African American player until 1947, when Jack Robinson made his debut with the Brookln Dodgers. As was the dream of Collin Drake in 1938, who wanted his shot in the Negro League and would go to any length to get he and his teammates their chance to play.
