Mother Courage and Her Children

About the Show

Exile International Theater Company presents a ninety minute version of Bertolt Brecht’s 1939 play, Mother Courage and Her Children, from the translation by John Willett. Written just before World War II, the play is a cautionary tale set during the Thirty Years War of 1600’s Europe. The current political climate in America adds a new dimension to the play’s exploration of patriotism, holy war, and courage. Yet there is a clear message to both sides about the dehumanization that infects even decent people when war becomes all you know. The production is co-directed by Dan Colman and Elizabeth Gaines.

The event is FREE, but a $10 suggested donation is gladly accepted. All proceeds will be donated to the September 11th Fund.
