About This Show

Monologuist Mike Daisey debuts a dazzling new work: four “bio-logues” about megalomania and desire constructed from the life stories of Bertolt Brecht, P.T. Barnum, Nikola Tesla and L. Ron Hubbard. Daisey explores the nature of genius–wrestling with the pride, insanity and chauvinism connecting these four men, revealing how the heights and depths of their gifts have much to teach us about ourselves. Each evening is unique and can be viewed independently, but all four together form an epic oral account of triumph and folly ripe with Daisey’s dark, comic intensity. This piece is presented as a part of the Evolve series. Jean-Michele Gregory directs.
