About This Show

The Irish Arts Center presenta the American premiere of Ladies & Gents, an award-winning theatrical event being presented at the Bethesda Fountain Toilets in Central Park (enter on West 72nd).

This site-specific theatrical event, winner of the Edinburgh Fringe First Award, is written and directed by Dublin playwright Paul Walker. Ladies & Gents is based on a true 1950’s tabloid scandal that once rocked Dublin to its conservative core. The show is presented in two twenty-minute acts that play simultaneously in the women’s and men’s room. This site-specific thriller keeps audiences on a razor’s edge of suspense, as it exposes the hypocrisy of a society plagued with rigid class attitudes, sexual secrecy and lies.
