About the Show

Giving/Getting Head, a sexual reduction of Oscar Wilde’s Salome, uses excerpts of Wilde’s text interspersed with pop music from the very early 1980s. Spanning hugely diverse styles (including: Queen, Judas Priest, Prince, The Cure, Joy Division, Blondie, etc.), the music creates Salome’s wolrd of decadence, desire and…death.

Club Rare in the Meatpacking district provides the perfect setting for this “Wilde” romp created by a cast of 10 filled with energy and attitude.

Adapted and directed by Relatively Theater’s Artistic Director, David Milch, the production is choreographed by Elizabeth Hazelwood. Lighting designer is Bobby Harrell and the illusions are created by the renowned Miyake Seo.

There is no Saturday performance on May 15. Additional performance Thursday May 13 at 8:30pm.
