About this show

Like Mama Rose in Gypsy, this redneck Texas dad pushed his talented son into the creative career that he never had (or wanted) for himself. This semi-autobiographical comedy focuses on a father who pushes his son too far because he doesn't want to own up to his son's "specialness." The play takes place in Fort Worth, from 1950-1969, as Jack grows up and pursues his dream of becoming a professional dancer, even though his daddy is Brady, the Texas redneck who makes Mama Rose look like Mother Goose! This performance is presented as part of the New York International Fringe Festival. Schedule: Wednesday, August 18 at 8pm Thursday, August 19 at 5pm Saturday, August 21 at 7:45pm Sunday, August 22 at 2:15pm Thursday, August 26 at 5pm Friday, August 27 at 10pm Saturday, August 28 at 5:00pm Saturday, August 28 at 10pm
