About This Show

Writer/Producer/Hip-Hop scholar David Lamb brings his first book Do Platanos Go Wit’ Collard Greens? to life in the stage production of Platanos & Collard Greens. Directed by Summer Hill Seven, Platanos & Collard Greens, which debuted to sold-out audiences in 2003, has been seen by more than 40,000 people around the country.

Platanos & Collard Greens is a thought-provoking romantic comedy that tells the story of two college students, Freeman, an African-American man, and Angelita, a Latino woman, who are forced to confront and overcome cultural and racial prejudices, while defending their bond from the biases held by family and friends.

Platanos & Collard Greens is guaranteed to make you laugh, inspire you and make you think. Everyone from The Daily News to Caribbean Life to The Amsterdam News is talking about it.
