Dependence Day

About the Show

Dependence Day is a comedy that explores what healing from addiction in a Black family looks like. It offers a universal lens into a Black family who is practicing belonging in their own home, while still pursuing their passions, and discovering their power and individual purposes. This play asks the question: What is the meaning of Legacy, and where are there opportunities for the family to grow past what they feel may be expected of them? This is a work of fiction, based on the stories of Brown's family members, and has been in development since 2019.
This performance will take place at The Tank (312 West 36th Street, FL 1, NY, NY, 1008) and be streamed on CyberTank
