New York City
When young American Alice follows a mime into an elevator, she finds herself in a strange new world. In a retelling of the classic story loosely inspired by Marc Chagall’s painting Paris Through The Window (1913), Alice encounters two little runts with very sticky fingers and a very naughty Queen. She runs her first Caucus Race and meets a deck of characters that seem familiar and new at the same time. Some of them used to be animals but they seem to have been changed in the night. There’s a Parisian feel to the entire affair, but you don’t need to know anything about France to jump down the rabbit hole.
Appropriate for ages 5 and up.
