About This Show

The Chance Plays is an ever-evolving evening of theater that works improvisation into the structure of written plays. It currently consists of two plays — Candyland and Correspondents — both of which change every night!

Candyland, featuring Michael Manzi, is about two friends stuck in an abandoned cabin waiting for a third friend who never arrives. To kill their boredom they play a game of Candy Land — without a board — with just a six sided die! It features an A plot written by the playwright and a B plot that the audience helps to write.
Correspondents, featuring Sam Paley, is about a woman at the end of the nineteenth century who's trying to choose between an exciting suitor, a boring suitor, and death. She receives letters from these various suitors — which are written by the playwright, on a typewriter, in front of the audience, with audience suggestions, in real time.
Both plays feature the writer Christian Flynn as a performer, who can't stop eviscerating himself through his creations.
This performance will take place in-person at The Tank and will be streamed on CyberTank
