About This Show

Just in time for Valentine's Day, grab your sweetie and join us for a sultry, intimate evening featuring:

Quiana Lynell's Pillow Talk Show with Daniel Meinecke
Though she has been singing since she was a girl and teaching vocal music to primary school students for several years, in 2017 Quiana Lynell made her salient mark on the jazz world as a wise, heartfelt, warm, genuine vocalist whose voice is singular in its soul, intensity, ecstasy and outright spiritual courage. This was the year she debuted her own trio at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, which led to her performing in Poland with renowned trumpeter and composer Terence Blanchard's Spike Lee Tribute affront a 75 piece orchestra. A graduate of the Louisiana State University music department, Lynell flexes her vocal dexterity as a classically trained artist when performing with the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra as principal soprano, invokes her gospel upbringing in her musical theater roles, and her personal life journeys as a jazz storyteller. With a smile that will entrance you and a voice that makes your troubles disappear, simply put, Quiana Lynell is where jazz collides in ecstasy with soul.
Daniel Meinecke is a pianist and composer currently living in New Orleans, perhaps most recently known as one of the recipients of the Detroit Jazz Festival’s New Voices Series in 2016. At that performance, he premiered his Big Band project where he brings his original voice to a large ensemble format. Daniel also received his Masters of Music from Detroit's Wayne State University in 2016. Meinecke’s original composition "In The Clouds" was featured by the Pan-American Detroit Big Band at the 2016 Panama Jazz Festival featuring Danilo Perez as a soloist. He now teaches piano skills, ensembles and private piano lessons at Loyola University New Orleans and has found success performing around the world with Quiana Lynell, an award-winning jazz vocalist. He also performs his own original music in the New Orleans area as the Daniel Meinecke Ensemble.
Tonight, this dynamic duo present Quiana's new repertoire of love songs and intimate compositions for a piano & voice show aptly entitled, "Pillow Talk."
