The Father

Cromulent Shakespeare Company presents August Strindberg’s The Father, directed by Christopher O. Kidder.

The play is about the struggle of a cavalry captain and his wife. Battling over the control of their daughter, the dogmas of science and faith are used like weapons until the stage is made perfect for the ultimate sabotage, the coercion of insanity. Through a precise, premeditated attack, the victor ensnares the vanquished in a web of endless doubt and misgiving that leads to an attempt on the daughter’s life.
