About This Show

In Walton Jones’s The 1940’s Radio Hour, there’s chaos in the cluttered studio of radio station WOV on December 21, 1942 as the cast and crew get ready to broadcast on the big Christmas variety show. It’s a sentimental musical journey to a bygone era, the days of live sound effects on radio, of singing and dancing to tunes like “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” “That Old Black Magic,” “Ain’t She Sweet,” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”
