About This Show

Much Ado About Nothing is a comedic play by William Shakespeare about deception, love, and misunderstandings. Don John, the evil half-brother of the prince, Don Pedro, plots against him. He hatches several schemes to discredit his brother and his soldiers, who are returning from war while they are visiting Leonato’s house in Messina.

Meanwhile, Leonato’s daughter falls in love with Claudio, one of the soldiers. Claudio and Don Pedro team up before the wedding to hatch a matchmaking scheme with Benedick and Beatrice, whose distaste for each other is well-known.

The sharp-witted and brilliantly written exchanges between Beatrice and Benedick make this one of Shakespeare’s most entertaining comedies — and Classical Actors Ensemble brings it to life.
