Tired of the beach? Summer heat got you down? Want something more than the latest summer blockbuster at the movies?

Try FST’s Summer Sideshows Series. In addition to its Summerfest 2004 season, Florida Studio Theatre will also feature three special performances to keep crowds cool and beat the summer heat in style, from the legendary Dorothy Parker to one actor’s experience on Broadway. Schedule is listed below:

FST Improv Troupe: Watch them creates characters, sketches and scenes using audience suggestions. Tickets are $10.

Dorothy Parker…One Foot in Scarsdale: Carolyn Michel stars once again in Jack Fournier’s one-woman show, as the “queen of malicious wit.”
Dorothy Parker made a name for herself from her “turns of the tongue” as she did her writing. Tickets are $26 – $28.
Begining June 30, 2004
Performances at 7:30 pm, Sunday matinees at 2:00pm
Gompertz Theatre (1247 First Street)

Naked on Broadway: David Rogers’s one-person show chronicles Rogers’ life in the ‘biz’. The Tony-nominee tells stories of working with Tallulah Bankhead, Bea Arthur and being “naked” on Broadway for the play Doubles. Tickets are $18 – $20.
Beginning July 22, 2004
Weekdays at 7:30 pm; Saturdays at 6:00pm; Sunday matinees at 2:00pm
