Ride, a cross-country adventure by playwright Eric Lane, is a poignant and hilarious play that takes three adolescent girls — Molly, Carrie, and Sam — on a life-changing road trip.
Recent high school graduates Carrie and Molly, who are complete opposites and never hung out together at school, form a fragile relationship while working at a local farm stand. Molly convinces Carrie to join her on an unexpected road trip in her brand new car — a gift with strings attached. Carrie brings along her 11-year-old sister, Sam, who ends up creating a bridge the older girls need to move forward. All three girls are keeping secrets, which unfold over the course of their trip, and the girls' true selves begin to emerge. Their ride is both a physical and emotional one.
