A co-production with Pasadena Playhouse, Paper Mill Playhouse and Arizona Theatre Company brings Blue, infused with original jazz music. Directed by its original New York director, Sheldon Epps, the play takes us to the South Carolina home of the Clark family, pillars of the African-American community. It is the 1970s and the Clarks are a successful clan buoyed by the prosperity of their recession-proof family funeral parlor. Just as this ?perfect? family is about to make the cover of Ebony Magazine, surprise forces go to work as the silky smooth voice of jazz crooner Blue Williams keeps passing through the imagination of Peggy. Soon we learn that in the Clark family, as in most families, everything is not exactly as it appears…
