It’s 2015. America is going to hell in a handbasket: economically, culturally, religiously! Americans are emigrating, and passports are being canceled. Into Nick’s Bar in Buffalo, NY, step freedom fighter Walter Wellman and his wife Sally who need letters of transit to get to Canada. Will world-weary Nick, Sally’s jilted lover, come to their aid? Award-winning playwright A.R. Gurney (The Dining Room, Sylvia, Love Letters) fashions a work of love and politics with liberal doses of humor and large helpings of a classic 1940’s film.
