Thicker Than Water

Stage and screen stars Barbara Bain and D.B. Sweeney head the cast of Dale Griffiths Stamos’ Thicker Than Water, a world premiere presented by Three Roses Players and Venice Sky Productions.

Maggie Grant and Dan Berkowitz direct the production, composed of six one-act plays that run the gamut from broad comedy to gut-wrenching drama, and examine a fascinating range of family dynamics.

On the anniversary of her husband’s death, a woman returns to the burnt out remains of her home, forcing a painful confrontation with her children.

Line in the Sand (John Henry Richardson, D.J. Harner)
A faithful Episcopalian challenges her parish priest when he decides to reject the election of an openly gay bishop.

The Dinner Guest (Molly Leland, Julianna Robinson, Christopher Heltai)
A wife invites her husband’s mistress to dinner in a wild-brained attempt to save her marriage.

Going Home (Barbara Bain, Dennis Delsing)
A son must convince his desperate mother that Dad be allowed to die on his own terms.

Birthday Escape (Bob Ebinger, Christopher Karbo, Christopher Eric Ruiz)
Dad has run away for his birthday and his bewildered sons discover there’s more to their father than they thought.

Plenty Papaya (Barbara Bain, Maggie Grant, Larry Robbins)
A daughter must deal with the shock of walking in on her 80 year-old, stroke-inflicted mother in flagrante delicto!
