About This Show

The Diary of Anne Frank may be the most well- known story of the twentieth century. It has grown to be a symbol of the tremendous loss humanity suffered as a result of World War II and a celebration of life despite great difficulties and profound danger. Seven people hiding in an attic for more than two years from an oppressive regime. Yet despite hardships, they lived, laughed, fought, and waited desperately to be saved. All seven were captured and deported to Auschwitz on the very last deportation train to leave Amsterdam. Out of the seven only Otto Frank survived. The sadness of this is not that we have lost these six people, but in the 19 million that they represent.
