About This Show

This contemporary urban comedy/drama follows Peter, a passionate, attractive 23 year old man who loves gardening and has plans to save the world by teaching its starving people how to grow their own food. Peter lives with his beautiful 25 year old sister Natalie and is so over-protective of her that she suspects his love for her may border on the “unmentionable.” Natalie gets involved with the handsome, rough 46 year old Frank, a man whose profession is questionably shady and who Peter suspects will one day hurt his sister both emotionally and physically. Peter meets a charming, quirky young linguist named Lynn who offers him true love as well as alternative ways of thinking. Though Peter falls in love with Lynn, his own issues regarding Natalie make him unable to accept Lynn’s love fully . Peter’s passions take him through a series of misadventures that includes a six-month stint in prison where he “dated” and a two year trip to Africa to plant food for the hungry where he planted many seeds, literally and figuratively. This production is the west coast premiere of this wonderful play written by New York playwright Stephen Belber who also penned “Match”, the 2004 Broadway show starring Frank Langella. Mr. Belber also adapted his play “Tape” for the screen. The film starred Ethan Hawke, Uma Thurman and Robert Sean Leonard.
