About This Show

Sounds created on-stage, a boat carved out of bread, a bird made of rope, a circus hidden in a jacket, and a storm somehow caused by a teacup– these are some of the wacky moments audiences will witness in Boats.

Boats, presented by Australia’s Terrapin Puppet Theatre, is a story about Nick and Jof, two life-long friends who meet through bizarre circumstances involving a chicken, a deserted island and a sombrero, to flee their past and embrace adventure. This inventive production is a mixture of puppets, acrobatics, singing and sound effects created live with two microphones, one of which goes underwater. Watch as magic unfolds from simple objects usually only found on a boat’s galley.
