About This Show

Dennis McIntyre’s thought-provoking, incisive account of the effects of racism, fear, and societal pressure on an African-American police officer continues to be a night of theatre one won’t soon forget. Split Second is a study of conflict between law and morality.

It is a hot 4th of July night on the streets of New York when a black cop chases down a white petty thief who attempted to steal a car. When the thief taunts him beyond the brink, the by-the-book cop’s rage consumes him and what he does within a blink affects the rest of his life.
