In Luigi Pirandello's masterwork, a scathing and brilliant satire, Six actual Characters from an unperformed play intrude upon an acting company's rehearsal, searching for an author to complete their journey to the stage. They bring with them a tale of family betrayal and heartbreak. Intrigued, the company's Director takes on the Character's story, intending that his own Actors perform it. Despite the Director's faith in his art and the Actor's best intentions, they cannot hope to capture all the "real" life coursing through the Characters who are standing before them. Demanding truth, justice and even revenge, the Characters take over the theater, bringing their tale to its harrowing end in front of the bewildered Director, company and audience.
