About This Show

David Fofi and Don Cesario on behalf of the Elephant Stageworks / Theatre Company present the world premiere of Timothy McNeil’s play Los Muertos. A Guatemalan woman, in the last days of her life, fights for the soul of her beloved, Yevgeny, a Russian immigrant and two young junkies. David Fofi directs.

The play looks into the lives of four exiles in Los Angeles: three whose souls are all but dead, and the one who’s trying to bring them back to life. Amina, a Guatemalan immigrant, is dying of cancer in the claustrophobic apartment she shares with her Russian immigrant lover Yevgeny, a heroin dealer whose anger and hate have finally consumed him. Two young junkies, fixtures in this household, become pawns in Amina’s battle to bring Yevgeny back to life, and in the process they create a connection that may save their own.
