A 2011 Inductee into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, Leon Russell, in his distinguished and unique 50-year career, is perhaps the most accomplished and versatile artist in the history of rock ‘n’ roll. As a songwriter his songs have hit the charts across all genres and been covered by a diverse range of artists, including Joe Cocker’s “Delta Lady,” The Carpenters’ “Superstar,” #2 on the pop music charts, and George Benson’s “This Masquerade,” winning the Grammy for Record of the Year. His own chart-topping recordings include “Tight Rope,” “A Song for You,” “Lady Blue,” among others. In 2010, Russell with fellow piano man Elton John released The Union, named one of the year’s best albums by Rolling Stone Magazine, and includes the Grammy-nominated single, “If It Wasn’t For Bad.”
