About This Show

Israeli playwright Joshua Sobol’s play iWitness is about a man who died for his beliefs over 60 years ago. Based on the true story of Franz Jaegerstatter, an Austrian farmer who was executed in Berlin in 1943 for his refusal to wear a Nazi uniform and serve in the army of the Third Reich, iWitness takes place on Jaegerstatter’s last day in prison when he is visited by friends and loved ones who plead with him to relent, to bend his principles and save his own life. This English language version is by Joshua Sobol and Barry Edelstein. Barry Edelstein also directs.
