About This Show

Hustler Noir, a One-Man show starring Champagne Powell, is a compilation of spicy stories of the street spoken in rhyme, drawn from spontaneous recitations by prison inmates who did hard time in New York’s Sing Sing, Attica, Auburn, and Clinton prisons during the 50’s and 60’s. These stories or folk poems known as “toasts” depict the life of a black hustler as he makes his way through the underbelly world of prostitution, players, and drug addicts – a world that few of us know.

Please note that the production contains adult material and explicit language.

There is a Special Sunday performance on May 18 at 7:30pm.
