The Los Angeles County Arts Commission and A.S.K. Theater Projects presents a season of three world premieres of plays by three Los Angeles companies for the fourth annual Hot Properties Series.

The Shaggs: Philosophy of the World, a musical play by Joy Gregory with music by Gunnar Madsen, is the strange but true story of one of the worst bands in rock’n roll history. Directed by John Langs, the six-week run takes place November 7 through December 14.

Stage Directions is a journey to self-acceptance sparked by a confrontation over a stage kiss that doesn’t happen. L. Trey Wilson explores the subtle and not-so-subtle forms of homophobia in the African-American community in a hilarious, thought-provoking, and moving way. Ensemble Studio Theatre-The L.A. Project’s six-week run is set for January 24 through February 29. Ensemble Studio Theatre-The LA Project reopens Stage Directions for March 11 to April 4 at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble.

Daisy in the Dreamtime is the true story of Daisy Bates, the first white woman to live among Australian aborigines and enter the “Dreamtime”. This West Coast premiere is directed by Simon Levy for The Fountain Theatre and runs from March 20 through April 25.
