The 1971 movie version went on to earn Academy Awards and subsequent Broadway revivals in 1991 and 2004 earned the musical even more Tony Awards. David Ellenstein, the critically acclaimed Artistic Director of North Coast Repertory Theatre, has been signed on to play Tevye, the dairyman, in the production.
