About This Show

The Knightsbridge Theatre adapts Christopher Marlowe’s taut, brutal account of Edward II’s betrayal, overthrow and eventual murder to reflect the modern political and religious assault on sexual freedom and individual liberties.

Edward II was betrothed to Isabella, a French princess and was positioned to inherit a strong realm from his powerful and popular father. One small thing: Edward II was gay and carried on a very public love affair with a man by the name of Piers Gaveston. Tiger Reel directs.
