Distracted

Set in today’s fractured, fast-paced and overly wired world, Distracted explores Attention Deficit Disorder, its affect on families and its meaning within the context of our society. The play navigates the disconcerting and at times hilariously surreal path a mother takes to find a remedy for her eight-year-old boy’s “anxious and distracted” behavior. Through a maze of teachers and psychologists, the mother searches for answers. Is her son’s diagnosis correct? Or is he simply reacting to the over-stimulation of TV screens and computers? Is he dysfunctional or just different?
