Bob Cole Conservatory Concert Series

About This Show

This eclectic program features film composer Korngold’s overture to The Sea Hawk, which is incredibly rich in color and romanticism. Schubert’s Symphony No. 8 is unique in most classical repertoire of the time, in that it consists of only two movements. Concluding the evening is Stravinsky’s Petrushka, the original 1911 version. It features quadruple the number of typical wind instruments and extended roles for piano and celesta – a festival of colors, indeed.
