New York City
Following the success of last year’s Blues at the Crossroads I celebrating the Robert Johnson Centennial, Blues at the Crossroads II returns to showcase music by Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf. Both musicians vie for the honor of the "father of modern Chicago Blues" and are considered the key bluesmen who inspired Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, John Mayall, Eric Clapton and others who brought about the 1960’s British blues explosion.
Friends and rivals, the two competed for the top slot and created many classics including "Spoonful," "Mannish Boy," "Rolling Stone" and "Smoketack Lightning." The Fabulous Thunderbirds joins Blues at the Crossroads II as the core band backing greats James Cotton, Bob Margolin, JJ Grey and Jody Williams.
