About This Show

Ron Hutchinson’s Believers blends epic storytelling, butoh inspired movement and original music and sound score to tell the story of what happens when religious fervor controls our actions. Created in response to the events of
9/11, it is set in a different world and different time against footage of
real events and original music. A myth based on religious division,
Believers is an exploration of the origins of a religion, taking a simple
act of kindness and elevating it into a Religion that hooks a world.
Factions arise, interpretations differ, and wars and terrorism take the
world back into darkness and chaos. The play is a major new work emerging
from that day, forcing a theatre company determined to change lives through
the performing arts to give its full response on stage with the voices of
those whose world will be a different place to the one we grew up in.
