About the Show

Macbeth, a victorious Lord serving the King of Scotland, meets three witches who prophesy that he will soon become King. After sharing this beguiling news with his wife, Lady Macbeth persuades her husband to murder the king while he is a guest at their castle. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth begin to see apparitions of their guilty deeds, and in the end, lose their prized kingdom. After a mighty duel, Macduff conquers Macbeth to save the crown for the rightful King of Scotland.

As in Hydeware’s first production of Macbeth, all 24 characters are played by only 3 actors. In a play where dualism and the double standard go hand in hand, the concept is a perfect fit. With lines such as “foul is fair and fair is foul,” “double, double, toil and trouble,” and “the battle’s lost and won,” the paradox of the same actor playing the new and old King is par for the bloody course.
