The Little Mermaid

Chicago Kids Company Theatre for Children presents The Little Mermaid, a modernized musical based on the original Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, with sing-along songs and audience participation.

This production re-tells the story of Serena, the little Mermaid, who, on her 16th birthday gets to swim up to the surface to take a peek at the world outside the ocean. There she sees Prince Jeffery and falls madly in love. But how can she be with him? She has a tail …and he has legs! So she seeks out Wasabi, the Evil Sorceress of the Sea, to trade her voice for legs …to be with her true love forever.

The Little Mermaid features six original songs in styles from musical theatre to hip-hop, including a singing competition between Wasabi and the kids in the audience.

Recommended for kids aged 2 – 12.
