About This Show

In Mark Stein’s Bad Apples, high school sweethearts Peg and Brook pretend to be a perfectly normal suburban couple — playing bridge and exchanging gossip and recipes. But behind the closed doors of their tract home, they are digging a hole and plotting to help their friend Eddie, a sentimental, slightly demented, ex-con, break his girl Billie out of prison. But when Billie rats on them, Eddie becomes jealous of Peg and Brook’s relationship and dangerously despondent. Ida, the nosy neighbor across the way who is married to a cop, is repelled by, and strangely attracted to Eddie, especially when she discovers the mysterious hole. Will a few bad apples spoil the whole bunch?

Stein’s works have been produced at Manhattan Theatre Club, Actors Theatre of Louisville, George Street Playhouse and South Coast Rep. Multi-Ovation winner Nick DeGruccio directs. The cast includes Tim DeKay and Eric Lange.
