Men In The Fire
Men In The Fire brings forth an uplifting sound that recalls the music of spirituals, doo wop groups, quartets, contemporary and jazz genres. Since 2000, Men In The Fire has been lifting their voice to God collectively. Their concerts and public appearances have been in a variety of venues from homeless shelters to arenas, convention centers, parks, fairgrounds, and any other destination led by God.
Men In The Fire consists of four male vocalists (Alex “Jerry” Bingham, Brian “Tony” Bingham, Michael Woodson, James Walker, Jr.) and Music Director, Phyllis Walker. Their sound is filled with intricate harmonies and their songs range from traditional hymns to urban contemporary gospel music. The musical arrangements are varied from acapella to full band accompaniment. Their collective backgrounds and varied influences blend to form a well- rounded repertoire.
Men In The Fire’s mission has always been to share the message of gospel music. Secondly, they want their message understood and targeted to people of all ages, genders, and faiths.
Kristin Stepp (Visual Artist)
I am drawn to the perception of man and their misconception of a woman. My work encompasses the sensuality and elegance of the female figure yet verges on voyeurism. I portray women nude in a tasteful fashion, unlike the objectifying perception of what eroticism is in society. I capture women in their raw form to show the confidence and beauty that every woman should feel when looking at their reflection, and not what passes for society's preconceived perceptions.
