About This Show
A world premiere by Horton Foote, author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning The Young Man from Atlanta, and commissioned by the Alley Theatre, The Carpetbagger’s Children is the touching story about a man who went to Confederate Texas with the Union Army, decided he liked what he saw there and returned after the war to make it his home. As told by three of his daughters through interspersed monologues, the play is a lyrically woven tapestry of one family’s rich past.
