‘Embracing the Future: Strategic Planning and Succession Planning.” Presented by Theatre Communications Group, the national organization for theatre in the U.S., and the South Florida Theatre League, this day-long workshop will explore critical areas that arts leaders and board members should consider in order to ensure a healthy future for their organizations. Presenters: Teresa Eyring, Executive Director, Theatre Communications Group. Greg Kandel, founder and a partner of Management Consultants for the Arts, Inc of Stamford, Connecticut – a firm that assists cultural organizations in planning, executive search, and organizational analysis; Mica Cole, arts administrator, former executive director of Free Street Theatre and planning consultant, has been supporting and creating theater in Chicago for the past ten years. The day will conclude with a brief overview of challenges and opportunities in the American theater field overall, and how theaters in South Florida fit into our national landscape. Cultural executives, theater managers, staff, directors and board members, and cultural organizations based in any county, are invited and welcome to participate in this workshop.
