About the Show

The Glass Menagerie, impressionistic as a bad dream, shows Amanda Wingfield, a tragic remnant of Southern gentility; she lives in poverty in St. Louis with her son Tom, a discontented dreamer, and her daughter Laura, a painfully shy cripple. Their world of illusions clashes with the world of harsh reality, and the result is a disturbing drama of tenderness, charm, and beauty.
