An uproarious and racy coming of age story based on Carl Reiner’s semi-autobiographical novel. This side-splitting musical comedy is set in 1930’s New York City, where we meet 19 year old David Kolowitz, an aspiring actor who lacks any appreciable talent.
Undeterred, he’s convinced he’ll make it, despite his meddling parents’ pleas to become a pharmacist. With stars in his eyes, the enthusiastic and imaginative youth actually lands a gig with a desperate theatre group. Paying for the opportunity to be an actor, David ends up meeting a zany cast of characters and engaging in all sorts of romantic entanglements.
