About This Show

Thornton Wilder’s masterpiece, Our Town is set in a small town in the early 1900s where people attend church, never lock their doors and care for each other…it is a time before the Great American Century of world wars and superpower status. A gentler and quieter time that asks us what we truly believe in; that challenges us to examine how we live our lives with such poignancy and humor that it is one of the most beloved plays of all time. Yet within this play are contained the paradoxes of life and death–and the seeds of the American Dream that still are a part of our cultural identity. It is a play that touches your heart and asks us to join hands not in applause but in community.
