OPERA Shorts! events begin with a half-hour reception where guests may enjoy wine and appetizers provided by Alto. A 45-minute presentation features a brief introductory presentation on Opera Colorado and Central City Opera and a fun, interactive live skit of the opera synopsis, live highlight music samples and interesting tips on the staging, history, and popular influences.
Designed as a "Cliff Notes" styled series, the high-energy events will offer short talks, short songs, short clips and short skits – the perfect entrée for the fastest growing art form in the US. At the inaugural event, Opera Colorado’s Education and Outreach Ensemble will perform opera skits as well as live music samples from Donizetti’s rousing comedy, Don Pasquale.
