About This Show

Casa Mañana presents Miss Saigon. Set in South Vietnam’s capital city of Saigon, days before its collapse in April 1975, the musical is the epic story of love between Kim, a young, naïve Vietnamese bar girl, and Chris, a disillusioned American marine. The two fall in love against all odds, but the turbulent events of the Vietnam War threaten to rip them apart. David Bennett directs.

Casa Mañana presents The 5th Avenue Theatre’s production of Miss Saigon. Based on Puccini’s Madame Butterfly, Miss Saigon was created by the writers of Les Misérables, Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg. The score of Miss Saigon has been acclaimed by critics around the world as powerful, passionate and poignant. Songs include: “The Heat is On in Saigon,” the bittersweet “Movie in My Mind,” “Why God Why?,” “Sun and Moon,” the show-stopping “The American Dream” and “I’d Give My Life For You” – Kim’s promise to her young son, all powerfully conjure up the despair of war, passion of Saigon, pure love and the resilient human spirit.
