The best middle and high school bands around will rock out at The Ridgefield Playhouse before a panel of industry pros to compete for the title of "BandJam 2013 Winner" on Sunday, April 28, at 4 p.m. What began as a fundraiser for the not-for-profit performing arts center has become a much-anticipated competition. The bands that will compete in the middle school category are Apollo's Legacy and Marmalade Sky, both of Ridgefield, Element of Middlebury and Funky Neon of Redding. In the high school category are The Basement of Wilton, Infinity Project of West Haven, Dead End of Carmel, NY and MOTP with Cal Kehoe of Hicksville, NY. This year's celebrity judges are Grammy® nominated producer/musician Steve Addabbo, Broadway star Linda Eder, recording artist Paul Pesco and singer/songwriter/producer Vaneese Thomas. Comedian Christine O'Leary will host. BandJam 2013 is underwritten by The Guitar Center, Enchanted Gardens Studios and The Music Shed, and is sponsored by Unreal Candy Unjunked with media sponsor CtBoom.com. The Music Shed has provided musical direction for the bands.
