Kate and Petrucchio duke it out for ascendancy in Shakespeare’s most famous battle of the sexes, The Taming of the Shrew. There’s great disagreement among the critics as to who’s the winner. One critic believes the play is the prologue to the “only truly happy marriage” in all of Shakespeare’s plays. Well, that may be a bit much, but who can argue with Kate’s response to Petrucchio’s most famous line, “Come and kiss me, Kate.”
