About This Show

The Cameron Mackintosh/Really Useful Theatre Company, Inc.
production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera, directed by Harold Prince, has been confirmed for a return engagement as part of the Huntington Bank Star Performance Series. The
winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, it celebrated its
Sixteenth Anniversary on Broadway on January 26, 2004 and is the
longest-running show currently on Broadway. Worldwide, The Phantom of the Opera consistently plays to larger audiences and in longer engagements than any other musical in history.

Based on the classic novel Le Fantôme de l’Opéra by Gaston Leroux, the musical tells the story of a masked figure who lurks beneath
the catacombs of the Paris Opera House, exercising a reign of terror over
all who inhabit it. He falls madly in love with an innocent young soprano,
Christine, and devotes himself to creating a new star by nurturing her
extraordinary talents and by employing all of the devious methods at his
command.
